2FL Test

€299,00
What does the test measure?

The test measures whether you have a genetic mutation in the FUT2 gene.

How does an FUT-2 gene mutation affect your health?

A mutation in the FUT2 gene can lead to reduced production of the enzyme responsible for making certain blood group antigens and fucosyllactose. This can have several consequences, including an increased risk of certain intestinal infections, disrupted intestinal flora and possibly reduced absorption of certain nutrients. It is important to talk to a medical professional for more specific information about the possible consequences of a mutation in the FUT2 gene.

Which nutrients are less absorbed with an FUT2 gene mutation?

With a mutation in the FUT2 gene, the absorption of certain nutrients may be affected, particularly vitamin B12 and possibly iron. The reduced ability to produce fucosyllactose can lead to a disrupted intestinal flora, a reduction in the intestinal mucus layer, which in turn usually worsens the absorption of these nutrients. If you have a mutation, it is advisable to take 2 fucosyllactose as a supplement. It is also advisable to have your nutritional status checked, which can be done by an orthomolecular doctor/therapist or a regular doctor or medical specialist, among others. A deficiency of B12 in particular, but also iron, can have far-reaching negative health consequences.
