2’-Fucosyllactose (2’-FL) is een universele prebiotica voor jong en oud. 2’-FL zijn unieke prebiotica. Het zijn bio-identieke moedermelk oligosachariden ofwel ‘Human Milk Oligosacharides’ (HMO’s). 2’-FL is een kleine, oplosbare trisacharide die van nature aanwezig is in moedermelk, samen met andere glycanen. Het is opgebouwd uit L-fucose, D-galactose en D-glucose. 2’-FL zijn unieke en zeldzame prebiotica omdat ze niet in onze dagelijkse voedingsproducten voorkomen. We kunnen ze dus alleen maar innemen als supplement.
